Your role

“Provide technical and administrative support to the site foreman and project manager.

Main responsibilities :

Technical support :

  • Study, analyze and master various technical project documents, such as plans and specifications;
  • Participate in providing solutions for the various technical problems encountered on site;
  • Process and follow up QRI requests, keep TQC plans up to date, etc;
  • Take quantities from drawings and on site for directives, extras and other requirements (take-off);
  • Coordinate and document piping tests (reports, photos, approvals with customer or engineers), monitor test progress and send documentation to customer.

    Quality control
    :
  • Organize checklists for various project stages (roughing, finishing, etc.)
  • Check the installation of mechanical equipment, finishing equipment, baths and showers and other elements for compliance with plans (e.g.: correct pump installed in the right place).
  • Ensure that specialties (valves and others) are installed correctly.

Work coordination :

  • Coordinates delivery of special equipment to site (pumps, exchangers, chillers, etc.).
  • Follow up on equipment deliveries a few weeks before scheduled delivery dates.
  • Ensures that the project buyer is aware of upcoming milestones to ensure that stock is with the supplier.
  • Coordinates plumbing and piping plans with the project's structural and architectural elements, as well as with other electro-mechanical subcontractors;
  • Prepare and attend project coordination meetings with various site stakeholders;
  • Assist the site superintendent and project manager in tracking changes to plans,

    Administrative support
    :
  • Ensures daily return of site documents to the office: packing slips, time sheets, daily reports, work orders, ect.
  • Supports foreman with work orders
  • Supports the project manager for monthly invoicing and invoicing of directives.
  • Supports the foreman in his interactions with the general contractor: weekly meeting, coordination meeting, etc.
  • Coordinates missing items (B/O) and delivery errors with the buyer.
  • Coordinates deliveries of finishes and other equipment with the office
  • Ensures with foreman that all returnable materials are returned as quickly as possible.

    Monitoring work progress
    :
  • Take photos of all stages of work on each floor and record them on the network as we go along.
  • Take photos of sensitive items with the customer (cleaning, broken equipment, etc.) to protect our interests.
  • Make regular rounds to document work progress

    Work compliance :
  • Manage deficiency lists: read them, have them corrected, return signed and commented lists.
  • Document corrections with photos.
  • Manage specialized consultants: seismic, chemical treatment, balancing to ensure receipt of certificates and reports.”

Requirements

Be studying mechanical or construction engineering or have a DEC in building mechanics.
