The Jenaco service team is back in the field for Phase 2 of a large-scale mandate to upgrade and renovate underground installations at a site supplying several commercial buildings in Montreal.

This new phase includes the modernization of the six-inch main water inlet, where the ductile iron pipe is being replaced by a stainless steel pipe.

This type of water inlet requires state-of-the art equipment, such as a six-inch BPD, grooved stainless steel piping, and specialized wrenches.
explained Simon Vignola, head of the Jenaco service department.

The plumbers also had to replace more than 300 feet of copper piping that had been weakened by time with new copper piping.

This project has had our employees working in an unusual underground environment — it’s not every day that we work in tunnels
added Simon Vignola.

The mandate, from a Montréal-based property management firm, is being implemented in several phases to minimize the impact on occupants of the property. Given the presence of multiple commercial buildings on the site, the work is scheduled to be carried out on an annual basis. The third phase has already been scheduled for 2026.

This project demonstrates the versatility, rigour, and expertise of the Jenaco service department plumbers. Their goal is always the same, whether they are working in an emergency situation or on a highly complex project: to provide reliable and sustainable solutions.
