The Jenaco service department team, which could also be called the "agile solutions department," is seeing a rise in the number and variety of projects.

This department, founded on the principles of agility, must address urgent situations and projects with varying requirements. Its primary objective, however, remains consistent: to satisfy clients through prompt action while providing dependable and sustainable operational solutions.

In this instance, the team will be required to replace existing piping for drinking water with new equipment to comply with current standards. This task will be carried out in a tunnel with a height ranging from three to six feet.

Furthermore, given that the plumbing serves buildings occupied by numerous tenants, including various businesses, it is crucial to minimize disruptions caused by the work, such as water outages, to ensure minimal impact on the lives of the occupants.

There are several challenges for this major project assigned to us by a Montréal property management firm. We need to replace 1,600 feet of six-inch piping and 1,200 feet of four-inch pipes in a very humid environment and make the connections
According to the department head, Simon Vignola.

Few plumbers have experience with this type of underground work. "Our team members' extensive knowledge enabled us to create a practical plan for the client," he adds. Due to the project's scale, the client opted to execute it in several phases over three to five years, with one month of intensive work per year.

The mandate involves demolishing the galvanized steel piping, replacing it with stainless steel, making the necessary connections, installing supports for the new piping, and ensuring the safety of the water inlets.

This is an exceptional and exciting project for our team members. Although some tasks involve lying on their backs on a board inside a three-foot tunnel for distances of 50 feet, our plumbers are highly motivated. This project is interesting for them and offers valuable opportunities to gain new experience.
